About the STRIDE Project
The STRIDE project seeks to strengthen the role of law enforcement in suicide prevention by building their capacity through structured and contextualized training. It aims to equip officers with the skills needed to identify individuals at risk, respond effectively during crises, prevent custodial suicides, support bereaved families, and improve mental health support systems for officers themselves. STRIDE is grounded in national and global evidence and implemented through intersectoral partnerships to enhance public safety and mental health outcomes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day planning, coordination, and execution of STRIDE project activities. Maintain timelines, document progress, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Contribute to literature reviews, data collection and analysis (quantitative and qualitative), preparation of research reports, and drafting of manuscripts for academic publications.
- Assist in designing training content for law enforcement personnel based on evidence and stakeholder input. Facilitate and support delivery of training sessions and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Support the development of concept notes, proposals, and donor reports. Conduct background research and contribute to the narrative and technical sections.
- Work closely with internal team members and engage with key external stakeholders to support implementation and dissemination activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Essential
- Master’s degree in Global Mental Health, Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in mental health and/or suicide prevention projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods
- At least one peer-reviewed publication on mental health/suicide prevention is essential.
- Prior experience in training development and delivery
- Grant or proposal writing

- Familiarity with working with government or law enforcement stakeholders
