We are looking for a Social Media Associate to be part of our Centre-wide communications team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mental health and have a proven track record of managing social media accounts across platforms. They will be responsible for developing and implementing a social media strategy to promote our initiatives and research, engage with our community, and increase our digital presence.

Role and responsibilities

Strategy and planning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy in line with CMHLP’s strategic goals and values
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote events, initiatives, and research findings
  • Create and manage social media advertising campaigns and budgets for specific initiatives

Content development and dissemination

  • Develop social media guidelines in collaboration with the Program Director (Comms.)
  • Develop and maintain a social media schedule and content calendar in collaboration with project teams to ensure consistent and timely posts
  • Work in collaboration with the Design team to curate, create and publish engaging content (text, images, videos, etc.) across social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)

Collaboration and engagement

  • Engage with followers and respond to queries, comments and messages, building an online community
  • Identify and build relationships with potential partners and stakeholders across online platforms

Monitoring and analysis

  • Monitor social media channels for trends, conversations, and opportunities to engage with our audience groups
  • Analyse and report on our social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media tools, trends and best practices

Qualifications, experience and skills


  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Proven experience of 1+ year(s) in handling and managing social media for an organisation
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, best practices, and analytics tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills to ensure high-quality final outputs
  • Creative mindset with the ability to produce compelling content
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree/ diploma in Mass Communication, Marketing or Journalism
  • Past experience of working in the development or mental health sector
  • Video and/ or audio editing skills
  • Proficiency in Hindi and/ or any Indian language
