Project: Capacity Building of Service Providers, Caregivers & Child Protection Functionaries for Integrating MHPSS in Child Protection Systems in India

About the project: This project will focus on adapting modules on psychosocial interventions for vulnerable children, adolescents and caregivers and train, mentor & supervise master trainers to deliver the adapted modules in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

We are recruiting Assistant Project Managers for a project on integrating mental health and psychosocial support in child protection systems in India. This project will focus on adapting modules on psychosocial interventions for vulnerable children, adolescents and caregivers and train, mentor & supervise master trainers to deliver the adapted modules in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

Role and responsibilities

  • Develop training and outreach materials on integrating mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in child protection systems in India based on existing evidence and stakeholder consultations.
  • Conduct capacity building workshops for master trainers and provide ongoing mentoring and supervision support to master trainers.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate project implementation.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data collected from different sources for monitoring and evaluating program outcomes and impact.
  • Work closely with project team members, master trainers and other stakeholders to align implementation plans with project objectives and community needs.
  • Support in documentation and dissemination of project activities.

Qualifications & Skills

ESSENTIAL

  • Master’s degree in psychology, mental health or social work.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in child protection systems, mental health and psychosocial support for children and adolescents, and/or working with caregivers.
  • Experience in conducting capacity building workshops, facilitating training for different stakeholder groups.
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
  • Willing to travel regularly for project activities.
  • Can communicate effectively in English & Hindi (for Chhattisgarh) and English & Marathi (for Pune).

Desirable

  • Understands the culture and context of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
  • Education or experience in children and families, child development studies.
  • Experience with providing mentoring and supervision to teams.
  • Previous experience of working with large teams, conducting monitoring and evaluation.
