Research Assistant

The Keshav Desiraju India Mental Health Observatory (IMHO) is an open-access repository of data and information on mental health laws, policies & services to promote evidence-based policy making and bridge systemic gaps for advancing mental health in India.
We are looking for a Research Assistant for the Keshav Desiraju IMHO.
Location: Pune or Goa
Qualifications & skills
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Law, Public Health, Public Policy or allied disciplines
- At least 1-2 years’ work experience in the fields of mental health, public health, law and policy reform, social justice, and other allied fields
- Research experience in both qualitative and quantitative techniques
- Proficiency in written English – academic and policy writing
Desirable
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Law, Public Health, Public Policy or allied disciplines
- Prior experience in communication, advocacy, and network building
- Proficiency in Hindi (verbal and written)
Responsibilities
- Support with research including desk research, data extraction, collecting and collating existing data, metrics and information on the mental health system in India
- Support with drafting research outputs and publications (annual reports, briefs, newsletters, white papers etc.)
- Activities related to communication and dissemination of research
- Develop and maintain the IMHO website and data platforms
