We are looking for 2 Research Associates for the Keshav Desiraju India Mental Health Observatory (IMHO).

IMHO is an open-access repository of data and information on mental health laws, policies & services to promote evidence-based policy making and bridge systemic gaps to advance mental health in India.

Role and responsibilities

  • Conduct research by collecting, collating, and analysing existing data, metrics and information on the mental health system in India
  • Develop and disseminate research outputs and publications (annual reports, briefs, newsletters, white papers, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain the IMHO website and data platforms
  • Develop linkages and coordinate with civil society organisations, policymakers and other stakeholders as part of IMHO’s institutional mechanism for collaborative research
  • Organize consultations and dissemination events

Requirements and skills

Essential
  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Law, Public Health, Public Policy or allied disciplines
  • At least 2 years’ work experience in the fields of mental health, public health, law and policy reform, social justice, and other allied fields
  • Strong research skills both in qualitative and quantitative techniques
  • Proficiency in written English – academic and policy writing
Desirable
  • Prior experience in communication, advocacy, and network building
  • Proficiency in Hindi (spoken and written)
