We are looking for a Research Associate for a mental health and nutrition project based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

About the project

ISOBAR aims to prevent the emergence of later serious mental health and nutritional problems by focusing on school-going adolescents aged 12-18. The objectives are to integrate evidence-based prevention interventions into a single composite intervention and test it using an implementation science framework. We hypothesise that a well-organised school-based health programme, which integrates the essential components of promotion, detection, and prevention programmes, will reduce the future emergence of NCDs (mental ill-health and nutritional problems). To maximise the use of limited resources, we will implement a ‘hub and spoke model’, where a hub of counsellors will be trained to deliver high-quality counselling, support, and guidance to the students in different schools (spoke) within a geographically defined area.

ISOBAR is a collaboration between the University of Warwick, UK; McGill University, Canada; University of Ibadan, Nigeria; Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy, (CMHLP), Pune, India; Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF), Chennai, India; and the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India.
