Communications Manager / Coordinator

We are looking for a Communications Manager / Coordinator to lead our Centre-wide comms. team. Reporting to the Program Director (Comms.), the ideal candidate will work in collaboration with project teams and be responsible for executing CMHLP’s communication strategy.

Role and responsibilities

Strategy and planning

  • Create and execute a digital strategy in collaboration with CMHLP’s social media associate
  • Create and implement a targeted SEO strategy for CMHLP’s website that includes a mobile and on-page SEO plan
  • Execute and evaluate CMHLP’s communication strategy, developed in close consultation with the Program Director (Comms.)
  • Create and implement an effective process for documenting and sharing project learnings internally

Media and stakeholder engagement

  • Coordinate with internal teams to create and manage a Centre-wide directory of internal and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain media relations and provide support for editorial pieces, press releases for events and initiatives, etc.
  • Respond to queries and requests from media outlets and journalists to enhance CMHLP’s profile as a reliable source of information and expertise in mental health and suicide prevention
  • Liaise with project teams for all communications and outreach support

Content development

  • Manage and update CMHLP’s website in collaboration with the web development team and internal project teams
  • Oversee the development of marketing and fundraising collateral including brochures, annual reports, impact reports, newsletters, flyers etc.
  • Work closely with CMHLP Learn to create flyers and other promotional material for training and educational courses

Events and Webinars

Work closely with project teams to plan and manage online and offline events that include conferences, dissemination meetings, consultations, webinars, etc.

Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Proven experience of 3 – 4 years in a communications role
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram), Google Analytics, SEO, and other Web 2.0 fields
  • Excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team of communication associates including writers and visual designers
  • Creative mindset with the ability to produce compelling content
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical, proofreading and problem-solving skills

 

Desirable

  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree/ diploma in Mass Communication, Marketing or Journalism
  • Past experience of working in the development or mental health sector
  • Proficiency in Hindi and/ or any Indian language
  • An understanding of health and research methodologies and the ability to translate research findings into accessible and impactful communications
