Project Manager and Research Coordinator

Ankita is a social worker specialised in mental health with more than eight years of experience working across the mental health and gender space. Prior to joining CMHLP, she led and implemented end-to-end community mental health projects in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, spanning programme design, implementation, data (qualitative and quantitative) management and budget management. Her work has involved close coordination with multiple national and international stakeholders, including academic institutions and implementation partners based in the USA and Canada.

She brings strong experience in supporting and managing digital platforms and backend data systems, developed as part of the PEERS (Promoting Effective mEntal hEalth through peeR Supervision) project. Ankita has also led large-scale capacity building initiatives, training frontline health workers on mental health and gender across five states in India—Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.

At CMHLP, she manages on-ground implementation, research, capacity building, and stakeholder liaising for rights-based mental health law and policy initiatives. Her professional interests include maternal mental health and the emerging intersection of climate change and mental health. In her free time, Ankita enjoys travelling, exploring new places, and engaging in art and craft.
