At the Centre, Sonali leads the CASP pilot study which trains primary health workers to deliver a Contact & Safety Planning intervention to individuals who have recently attempted suicide in Chhattisgarh. She is also coordinating an effort to explore the use of AI for the scale up of mental health care and suicide prevention care in India.

Sonali is currently a doctoral candidate within the Dept of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, Utrecht University and has an MSc in Global Mental Health from King’s College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). When not working, Sonali is either spending time with her cat Jalebi or photographing the birds around her home in Mumbai. 

Professional interests: suicide prevention, development and testing of interventions for low-resource settings
