Quarter 1 2020-21 Results
In Quarter 1, April 1 - June 30, 2020, we evaluated nine of the highest read English-language newspapers in the country (including all their editions) and found 1,318 articles on suicide and attempted suicide. Based on these articles, a positive and negative score (out of 10) was calculated for each newspaper group. The results for the quarter are indicated below.
Limitations
Due to issues in accessing newspaper archives, certain dates for the following newspapers could not be included in the data collection and analysis process:
- The Tribune - Publications between 1st to 3rd April and between 4th May to 15th June 2020 were unavailable.
- The New Indian Express - Publications from 1st June to 30th June were unavailable.
- For The Telegraph, the Ranchi and Guwahati editions were not included for 3rd May to 30th June 2020, as they have been discontinued.
