Insurance coverage for mental illness: A review through a lens of bioethics and the MHCA, 2017
October 08, 2025Introduction: Health insurance coverage can serve as protection against catastrophic health expenditures. Section 21 (4) of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 (MHCA) mandates insurance coverage for mental illness to be on par with that for physical illness.
